About Powell Ohio

The City of Powell Ohio is where new and old meet. Powell is a mix of newer residential areas and a quaint, historic downtown. Powell was settled in 1801 in the scenic Olentangy River Valley. Powell remained a small village with a few thousand residents until the boom of the 1990’s. Since then the population has grown to 11,500 residents who enjoy the picturesque rural setting and the quick commute to Columbus and surrounding areas. Powell was voted the 18th best place to live in the US by Money Magazine. Powell is a 20-minute drive from downtown Columbus and 25 minutes from Port Columbus International Airport.
