About Galena Ohio

The Village of Galena was founded as a milling village in 1809 and is located at the confluence of the Little and Big Walnut Creeks. Galena sits at the headwaters of one of Central Ohio’s major waterways, Hoover Reservoir. Galena boasts historic buildings from the 1820’s that today bustle with shops, restaurants, and pubs, yet Galena is still a small village of only a few hundred residents in the Village. Outside of the village, Galena is growing with many newer residential areas that have been developed since 2000. Galena is a 25-minute drive to downtown Columbus and 20 minutes to Port Columbus International Airport.
